JPG vs PDF
Choose between JPG and PDF for photos, documents, forms, sharing, and printing.
JPG and PDF are not interchangeable containers. JPG is an image format; PDF is a document format that can hold text, images, vectors, forms, and multiple pages.
Use JPG for single images
JPG is a practical choice for photographs and platforms that expect an image upload. It is easy to preview and usually compact, but text may become soft after compression.
Use PDF for documents
PDF keeps pages, layout, fonts, and document structure together. It is a better fit for invoices, applications, reports, and anything that must print or be reviewed as a document.
Convert with the destination in mind
A JPG-to-PDF conversion wraps an image in a document; it does not recreate selectable text. A PDF-to-JPG conversion rasterizes each page. Choose the direction that preserves what the recipient needs.
